Justine Dupont

August 27, 1991

Lacanau (France)

Justine’s motto is “Smile at life and it’ll smile back at you”, something she embodies both on land and in the sea. Coming from a surfing family, she has been in and around the water most of her life, and maintains a high energy vibe that fits perfectly to the rigours of the world tour. An impressive endurance athlete, she maintains a healthy balance between the fun of surf travel and the rigours of competition.

Big wave tow-surfing, Tuberiding & aerials, Longboarding

In winter 2014/15 Justine along with three other women to plan to cross the Drake Passage from Cape Horn to Antarctica on paddleboards. As well as an incredible endurance feat, the 800km voyage across some of the most violent seas in the world will also serve scientific and educational capacities.

About her

Justine represents everything a modern surfer should be; versatile, fearless, radical, fun. Having qualified for the elite 2012 ASP Women’s Top 16, Justine also competed for the ASP Women’s longboard World Title that same year, the only surfer ever to have competed in both divisions, male or female. Justine’s ‘ride everything’ philosophy goes for waves as well as boards - in 2012 she rode the biggest barrel a European woman has ever surfed on the west coast of Ireland, following that up by riding arguably the biggest wave ever ridden by a woman in Oct 2013 at Belharra, SW France. A natural athlete, Justine is as fierce in competition as she is radical in heavy surf; aside from being only the third European woman ever to qualify for the Top 16, her competitive highlights include being the first European to win a six star WQS event in 2012, a 2nd place in ASP Women’s World Longboard in 2007 (3rd in 2010, 2013) as well as numerous French and European titles. Adopting a progressive, radical approach to freesurfing and competition alike, Justine is equally at home launching above the lip, riding deep inside the tube at SW France’s infamous La Graviere, or nose riding a longboard with classic style. Her natural talent combined with a love for the sport see her riding waves of all shapes and sizes every opportunity she gets, often the first one in and last one out.
