Mirjam was born and bred in Zurich. When snowboarding became popular in the early 1990s, she was soon up there on the board. Right from the start, she was thrilled by it and spent every free moment out in the snow. During the not-so-free moments, she attended senior high school and today she's studying for a degree in business administration and economics via distance learning. In 2003, she took up skiing again – or rather freeskiing which was not so well known in Switzerland at the time. In fact, she got such a kick out if it that, by 2005, the blonde-haired young lady had hung up her snowboard and dedicated herself to freeski. Success was only one year around the corner when, in 2006, she leapt to first place into a halfpipe competition in France. The first in a series of successes, of which there appears to be no end in sight…
