Swatch is proud to be a partner of The 55th International Art Exhibition - la Biennale di Venezia, one of the world's most prestigious cultural institutions.
The contemporary art exhibition opened in Venice, Italy, June 1 and runs through November 24, 2013, with Swatch present at both of the main venues with its SWATCH_Faces theme. La Biennale di Venezia was curated in 2013 by Massimiliano Gioni under the title: Il Palazzo Enciclopedico / The Encyclopedic Palace.
Swatch and Art have come a long way since the brand began working closely with artists 30 years ago. From Keith Haring and Kiki Picasso to Alfred Hofkunst, Mimmo Rotella, Alessandro Mendini and, more recently, José Carlos Casado, the popular Swiss watchmaker has commissioned “art for the wrist” from more than 75 artists from a broad range of disciplines.
Today the brand’s relationship with art and artists is stronger than ever, and Swatch continues to work with both established and emerging artists.
Swatch has been taking art to your wrist since 1983. Take a trip down memory lane and explore the classic pop art pieces and the modern design that all redefines the perception of the canvas. Colorful, creative and a reflection of their time, enjoy the watches created by world famous artists, musicians and fashion designers.
