Unbelievable! It’s time to hit the beach again with SWATCH and the world’s best beach volleyball players on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour 2008. In their first year with SWATCH, Women’s ProTeam partners Wang Jie and Tian Jia performed extremely well, finishing up the World Tour 2007 in 2nd place, and SWATCH has again reinforced the ProTeam with new recruits and partners.
Looking ahead, the SWATCH FIVB World Tour 2008 will be more exciting than ever as players battle for qualifying points and a chance to represent their countries at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Twenty-four teams per gender will be chosen based on their top eight performances in Olympic Qualification tournaments, with the final names to be determined less than a month before the Games begin on 8 August 2008.
With so much at stake, fans everywhere will keep their eyes glued on their favourite teams and players. The battle for Beijing kicks off with the SWATCH FIVB World Tour 2008 double-gender tournaments set for 25-30 March in Adelaide and Shanghai from 29 April – 4 May. The SWATCH FIVB World Tour 2008 calendar calls for 16 double-gender stops, including six Grand Slams (in Berlin, Paris, Stavanger, Moscow, Gstaad and Klagenfurt) and 8 Women’s and Men’s tournaments in separate locations.
