-
Water-resistance: A hard knock might cause the watch to lose its waterresistance without you realising it. Therefore, if you plan to use your watch under wate(swimming but especially rinsing or showering), it is important to have the water-resistance checked. -
Change of battery: While changing your battery be careful to manipulate the battery. There is a risk of damaging the movement. -
Cleaning: For metal bracelets and for all water resistant cases use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying. -
Bathing in the sea: Always rinse your watch with warm water afterwards. Sea water affects especially the leather quality. -
Magnetic fields: Avoid placing your watch on speakers or refrigerators, since these have strong magnetic fields. -
Shocks: Whether thermal or other, avoid them. -
Temperatures: Avoid extreme temperatures above 60C or 140 F, below 0C or 32F or extreme temperature changes. -
Manipulation while date changes: The date of the Swatch watch changes between 12H AM and 4H AM: never adjust the date function during this time. It could seriously damage the watch movement! -
Polish the glass: Scratches on your glass can disappear by polishing the glass. Use polish cream (or dental fresh) or go to your Swatch retail who will refresh your watch! -
Chemical products: Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets or the plastic parts of your Swatch watch. In general there are external factors that influence the quality of our plastic straps. The general environment such as light (UV), the temperature (changes from cold/warm for example in the warehouse), humidity, air pollution is having impact on the quality of the plastic. Once you start to wear the watch, there are other factors that have a stronger influence on the quality: perfume, sun cream and other chemical products.
