About her

Courtney Conlogue is female surfing’s new ‘super athlete’. Without a doubt the fittest girl on the elite ASP Women’s World Title Tour, ‘Lil Flip’ has been known to put in six-hour marathon surf sessions and boasts a training regime that would rival that of a professional boxer. Consequently, not only can Courtney out-paddle any girl on tour but her big wave aspirations have ensured she has an unwavering endurance for anything the ocean throws at her – making her a feared competitor by even the most seasoned of pro’s.

Born into a passionate surfing family, Courtney learned to surf on a family vacation down in Mexico where her father pushed her into a few waves on a bodyboard at the tender age of four. At five, Courtney had found her feet on a surfboard, quickly rising to the top, winning almost every event she entered to seal her title as a national amateur champion.

In 2010 and amidst her senior high school year, Courtney set out on a global campaign to qualify for the ASP World Tour, juggling exams and school commitments with the ASP Star events, claiming victory at the ASP 6-Star Cabreiroa Surfing Girls Pro in Spain, before taking runner up to Laura Enever in the Azores Islands Women’s Pro – to finish the year at World No. 3 and in so doing, qualified for the 2011 ASP Elite tier tour.

With a polished surfing style that is both powerful and progressive, Courtney has become increasingly comfortable in woman-on-woman competition and burst into the Top Ten in her first year. Courtney’s unwavering determination and work ethic have set her apart from her rivals as she nears her goal of a Top Five finish. With a fiercely goal orientated approach, a solid support network and close bond with her mom and coach Tracey, Courtney is well on her way to achieving her ultimate goal of becoming world champion.
