With his infectious positive attitude and enthusiasm for adventure, Sverre lives his life like he skis--no holds barred! The captivating passion for his sport expressed in his seamless, gorgeous rides shows up in everything he does, including his design work with skier and friend Kaj Zacrisson, with whom he co-founded Kask, and his ski movie production company, Swedish Posse. Sverre started alpine skiing at the age of 8 when he was on vacation with his parents. Quickly showing an astonishing talent for quick, clean skiing, he began competing and skiied professionally in alpine ski races until 1998. Things changed for Sverre when he became interested in freeriding after watching the Scandi-navian Extreme in Riksgränsen. Trying his luck at freeskiing, Sverre was an instant success, snatching up the Scandinavian champion title and later going on to be crowned World Champion in 2003. Sverre was voted Best Overall Skiier in Sweden in 2003 and has continued to perform impressively in competitions world wide. He placed 1st at Russian Adventure in 2009 and in the top 5 at Verbier Xtreme in both 2009 and 2010. Sverre is also a successful designer: while travelling back and forth across the Rockies between events in the USA, Sverre found a creative way to pass the hours and to get some meditation time in between freeskiing sessions—crocheting. Drawing on skills his mother had taught him, Sverre found he had a hand for crocheting ski beanies that were both cool and practical. After crocheting beanies for friends and fans with his friend Zackrisson, the friends decided to launch KASK – an environmentally-friendly company that creates beanies popular among skiers and fans throughout the world. Alongside his enduring devotion to freeskiing the world’s most stunning mountains and living life full throttle, Sverre has been featured in many international ski magazines and movie productions, including those of Swedish Posse, the award-winning production company he co-founded. Sverre is featured with his friend Kaj in the Swatch Catch the Moment Portrait series, and in 2011’s Très Bonne Équipe!
Sverre enjoys surfing, fishing, motocross and miniramp skateboarding. He is involved in design work, including designing hats for his company Kask, which he co-founded with fellow freeskier and best friend Kaj Zackrisson.
Sverre Liliequist could very well be the poster child for the motto Carpe Diem. A seasoned seizer of days, Sverre is happiest free riding, completely present to the majesty and power of nature as he heads full tilt down the world's most treacherous and beautiful cliffs. A master of the art of living, Sverre is passionate about the mountains he loves, about the snow pack, the steep slopes, and the zen of freeskiing. Sverre enjoys every minute of the ride that is life, counting his girlfriend, sunny days, and friends as his favourite things.
