After staging Beach Volley events in Karlovy Vary (1997) and Brno (2006 and 2007). The Czech Republic hosted its first SWATCH FIVB Beach Volley World Tour event with a 2008 stop in Prague.

Prague surprised the players, the organization as well as the viewing crowd with its stunning beach weather. It made it interesting for the citizen of Prague and beyond to spend some time on the Stvanice Island to follow the sandy fights. The Pro Team members Julius Brink and Christian Dieckmann played against the winner of this tournament, Gibb/Rosenthal US, and finally made it on the 2nd place.

The ranking for the other Pro Team members are:

Laziga / Schnider CH: 7th
Doppler / Gartmayer AT: 7th
Barsouk / Kolodinsky RUS: 13th
Herera / Mesa ESP did not participate.
