| Personality | Joonas is not only extraordinarily talented, he also trains a lot. And mentally he is one of the strongest ski athletes who can be found in the circus. Quote: “The greatest fun for me is to race down an enormous slope at a high speed and still have full control even on a technically demanding device like Freeheel skis.” | |
| Specialities | Joonas is currently probably the best Telemark skier in the world. He does things with Telemark skis which only few people can do with Alpine skis. Like a switch 540, zero spin fakie with landing in the Telemark style. | |
| Sidelines | Joonas studies textile design in Stockholm. With his partner, he has a son named Benjamin. |

| Film appearances | 2006 | Since We Last Spoke |
| 2007 | Skiing Around The World | |
Joonas has been on skis since he was four years old. Before he switched to Telemark, he skied Alpine and also snowboarded. When he was as old as 17, he gave up soccer, which he had previously committed himself to, in order to concentrate on the snow and at the same time on Telemark skis. A bit later, the newly convinced freeheeler traveled throughout Europe, always looking for powder and the best kickers. At the Rookie Challenge, the qualification for the O’Niell Xtreme, Joonas proved – incognito – that Telemark skiers could do the same as normal skiers, which brought him an invitation to Verbier as a forerunner. However due to an injury he still has not been able to accept this invitation. But the Finn doesn’t only keep up in freeriding, also in the park he knows how to show off his skills.
