The Swatch Answer

The Swatch Automatic is a self winding mechanical timepiece. The power it needs to keep running is not provided by a battery but by natural knietic energy. A rotor or flywheel which rotates around its axis with every movement of the wearers wrist, ensure that the mainspring stays wound. The rotor has a ball bearing and gives the movement up to 47hours power reserve. The balance spring oscillates at a rate of three Hertz or three times per second.
