Product Description
Bold Cat (GE231) is a watch that beams with youth and liveliness. Rendered in appealing bright colours, this watch showcases the inquisitive, whiskered visage of a cartoon cat, which looks very bold indeed—and also rather like it just ate the proverbial canary. Montenegro’s cleverly constructed piece shows the picture-book feline reclined from one end of the watch to the other, the tail extending to become the buckle and its face peering out of the dial. According to the artist, this work is meant to be a lucky charm, and with its curiously stylish spirit, it does seem to capture something of the totem’s lively animal magnetism.

Artist Biography
Christian Montenegro
Christian Montenegro, an illustrator and painter from Argentina, mixes traditional styles with contemporary themes and concepts. After he won the Swatch Special Prize at the Young Illustrator Awards in 2008, Swatch asked Christian to design a cover for the Club Voice, the lifestyle magazine. Christian also created the delightful Bold Cat watch for Club’Art, a limited edition of special Swatch watches and packaging for members of the Swatch Club.
