Artist Biography
Ivan Navarro
Born in Santiago, Chile, Ivan Navarro currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Navarro is interested in what he thinks of as the unfinished aspects of minimalism. In a sophisticated reference to the formalist art movement, he combines objects such as shopping carts, mirrors, tables and fluorescent lights in his sculpture. His work is meditative, engaging the viewer in an interaction with forms and spaces. Navarro’s widely admired work was featured at the 2009 Venice Biennale.
