Nora Vasconcellos received her first skateboard from Santa when she was just a little girl, and the rest is history. When you watch her, it’s obvious that she loves skateboarding and her iconic style, both powerful and graceful, motivates aspiring and established skaters around the world. On the road to earning her “World Champion” title at the 2017 Vans Series World Championships, Nora proved that not only does she do what she loves, but she is also very good at it. She dominates the skating scene and she’s the newest member of our Proteam.
Nora is originally from Massachusetts but now resides in California. Always outdoorsy and creative, she knew early on that skateboarding is something she would be willing to fall down and get back up for... again and again and again. The outgoing skater is also an artist, and when she’s not ripping at the skate park, she draws with pen and ink and creates imagery with mixed media. Inspired by her father, who is also an artist, Nora has advanced from doodling and sculpting, and today, her artwork is playful, inviting and impressive – totally in tune with her personality and our own passion for art. She views skating as a form of art itself, and her artwork is as much on display in her unique skating style as it is in exhibitions.
Beyond her elite skills, fans and friends are drawn to Nora by her authentic character. She’s playful, real and relatable, some might even say goofy, but she’s incredibly committed to pushing her limits and going after what she wants.
Nora joins the stellar surfers, snowboarders, bikers and beach volleyball players who make up Swatch’s Proteam. The pro-rider will be competing in the 2018 Vans Parks Series, which Swatch will be supporting as a creative partner, in Huntington Beach on August 3-4. Stay tuned to see what she does next!
Welcome to the team, Nora!
