A sporting spectacle like no other, set in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Swatch Major Gstaad definitely served a great dose of thrill. In the men’s finals, the young Dutch duo Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot triumphed in three sets against the Qatari pairing of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan. The women’s gold game was a purely Brazilian affair, with Agatha Bednarczuk Rippel and Eduarda “Duda” Santos Lisboa fighting their way to the podium against compatriots Ana Patricia Silva Ramos and Rebecca Cavalcanti Barbosa Silva. The Swatch Proteam duo of Tanja Hüberli (aka Hübi) and Nina Betschart played fiercely against the tournament champions during the quarterfinals, and even with their Gstaad journey ending there, their confidence received a well-deserved mighty boost in the run up to the Tokyo Olympics.
Swatch fans won big, too – the Swatch Truck hosted contests, letting Swatch Club members and new customers discover more about the brand and purchase the limited-edition Gstaad watch. We couldn’t be prouder of these amazing athletes, and we wish all of them the best of luck as they enter the world stage during the Olympic games!
