Taking place next year from 6 to 11 of April at Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU, the next electrifying chapter of Swatch Nines Snow promises to be more exhilarating than ever with a boundary-pushing course setup reimagined for the brand-new location, a world-class lineup of athletes, and its unconventional format that champions creativity, camaraderie and progression.
A new playground for innovation in Japan
Since 2008, Swatch Nines has been shaking things up and driving innovation and we continue that momentum. Located on one of Japan’s most famous mountains and known for its iconic powder, Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU is the perfect backdrop for what’s next. It’s not just a change of scenery, it’s a whole new playground that is sure to spark fresh ideas, bold moves, and next-level creativity.
Athlete-driven course design
A key ingredient in the success of Swatch Nines events is the creative course setups, recognized to be some of the most “rider-friendly” worldwide. Designed with input from athletes, for athletes, they are engineered to be the ultimate platform for landing new tricks.
This year’s course will be no exception as it will be shaped by insights gathered by some of the biggest names in the snow sporting world, during a dedicated course design workshop. Swatch Proteam athlete and halfpipe sensation Kaishu Hirano, will be among those contributing to the course design and later showcasing his insane skills on it. Anticipated to be a playground of snow sport progression, the course will integrate skate features fusing multiple action sports disciplines, a hallmark of the event in recent years.
