Swatch celebrates BMX flatland legend Matthias Dandois’ incredible career

Time flies, and the last two decades of Frenchman Matthias Dandois’ career have gone by in the blink of an eye. The Swatch Proteam athlete and nine-times world champion is known as the BMX saddle dancer for good reason, performing tricks that no one has thought of before. Swatch celebrates Matthias’ illustrious career, progression, and creativity with a watch like no other and by partnering with Red Bull on the ‘Time Machine’ action video starring the athlete.

Matthias wears YELLOW INK in the ‘Time Machine’ action video. This Swatch is all about the freestyle world champion and his French roots. The strap of this watch includes Matthias’ custom ‘tooth-finger’, or “dent-doigt” in French, which sounds like Dandois. The black design is detailed in yellow ink that draws attention to Dandois’s tattoos, including the tiger and snake on the side of his body, the goldfish on his hand, and the “bonjour” text on his fingers. The upper strap loop features the texture of the specific tyre print from his bike.

Swatch has teamed up with Red Bull and Matthias to create a BMX setup shaped like a giant Swatch that features in ‘Time Machine’. The ‘dial’ is where he performs many of his flatland and street tricks in front of the camera and features many of Matthias’ tattoos, just like the YELLOW INK watch.
