Swatch welcomes skate supremo to its Proteam.

Gustavo Ribeiro is arguably one of the best skateboarders of his generation. Born in Almada, Portugal, in 2001, Gustavo got his first skateboard at five years old and didn’t look back.

Alongside his twin brother Gabriel, he has honed his skills on the streets of Lisbon which he moved to aged six and on the international skating scene. In 2017, Gustavo became the first Portuguese skater to win the global industry breakthrough contest, Tampa AM, with 360° flip flipslides, flip noseslides, and big flip front boardslides.

The win earned him a ticket to the SLS Pro Open 2018 in London, where he finished an impressive seventh overall. Since 2018, he has made his mark at events like the Street League and Spain’s O Marisquiño contest. In 2019, Gustavo turned Pro for Jart Skateboards and scored third place at the Street League in Brazil.

Two years later, in Tokyo, Gustavo became the first Portuguese skateboarder to qualify and participate in an Olympic final in his discipline.
