Discover Biennale Arte 2024
Swatch is proud to announce its return as main partner of the Biennale Arte 2024, one of the most prestigious contemporary art exhibitions in the world. At the upcoming 60th edition of the exhibition, seven artistically distinct artists are set to shine, showcasing their unique blend of contemporary work at the Giardini and Arsenale.
Swatch partners with VERDY
Among the artists at this year's Biennale Arte is renowned Japanese graphic artist VERDY, who will be presenting his imaginative work at the Giardini. Acclaimed for his graphic work and streetwear labels like Girl's Don't Cry and Wasted Youth, VERDY has expanded his artistic horizons into painting and sculpture in recent years.
During the Swatch Faces 2024 exhibition at the Arsenale, six former artists-in-residence from the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, will be presenting their artwork inspired by the Biennale 2024's theme “Foreigners everywhere”.
Talent from all over the globe
During Swatch Faces 2024, six former artists-in-residence from the Swatch Art Peace Hotel will showcase a unique blend of contemporary artwork that encourage us to explore new territories and new languages. From the surreal to the abstract, the works of these six uniquely distinct artists promise, like the artists that came before them, to leave visitors captivated.
Maya Gelfman, Israel
Maya has embraced a nomadic lifestyle since 2017. A multidisciplinary artist, she seamlessly integrates painting, installation and street art into her creative practice. She will present a selection of four paintings from The Shanghai Series.
Jiannan Wu, China
Jiannan Wu is a New York-based visual artist from China, focused on sculpture. He will present three thought-provoking works that question media bias and explore life and its cyclical nature: Feb. News, Destiny is All and Cheers.
Juan Pablo Chipe, Mexico
Juan Pablo immerses himself in video arts and 2D animations that he transforms into captivating short films, illustrations, and design. He will present the La Escultura Project, a sculptural fusion of Mexican and US culture, in addition to a series of eight collages on the same theme, made of recycled material.
Luo Bi, China
Luo Bi is a digital artist who weaves together computer-generated animations with observations of nature. She will showcase Flower of Abundance, a virtual world surrounded by 3D elements where Mother Nature is brought to life through plant-themed creations.
Leo Chiachio & Daniel Giannone, Argentina
Leo and Daniel, a dynamic art collective known as Chiachio & Giannone, specialize in applied arts such as embroidery and textile mosaics. They will present Comechifonnes #1 and Comechifonnes #4, a uniquely mesmerizing installation that invites the viewer to converse with the artwork and the artists depicted within it.
Wear the spirit of the Biennale Arte
Our Biennale Arte timepiece, BIENNALE ARTE 2024, pays tribute to this year’s Biennale theme. The watch boasts an essential, direct design in black biosourced material, accentuated by white glow-in-the-dark details for an unexpected touch. BIENNALE ARTE 2024 will be worn by volunteers at the event, sold in the Biennale stores and in selected Swatch stores in Venice.
